Well if IR transfer is banned, I think we should opt for something else. Either USB or I/O

A battery indicator light would be awesomesauce.

If we end up including an indicator light, we definitely should not add a "Your batteries are low." message unless it really was important, like when downloading stuff.

If it isn't that expensive or hard to implement, I think the battery indicator would be a nice addition. :)

yeah, as long as its more reliable than the TI one, it never displays a message until it turns off and then you turn it on again for a second.  :P

I personally think that a battery light indicator would be a bit intrusive.
