Bakuman is quite good. It's a shonen title about two guys and their journey to become managaka. It has comedy and romance elements to it. It was done by the same mangakas that created deathnote, so the art and story are quite good. I recommend either the manga or the anime.

Since this thread has seen a resurgence in popularity and I've actually watched a dozen or so animes now (don't judge me, baka), I may as well pipe in. I'm still fairly new to anime, so I've been starting with the more popular ones. Sorry if you've already seen this!

My most highly rated anime so far is Spice and Wolf (Ookami to Koushinryou). For me, it was the perfect combination of economics, history, fantasy, romance, and thrill. Perhaps this is just because I'm particularly nerdy, but I found that the economics and trading provided more drama and thrill than any fighting. The characterization and the dub were amazing, and I imagine the sub is, too. The leading female role is a beautiful fox godess, but this is not a furry or ecchi anime, so that's just a pleasant bonus. My only gripe was that it ends so soon, after two seasons, without a satisfying ending that wraps things up. I guess that's because there was no wrap-up at that point in the source material, which could've probably gone for another four seasons or so.

I also recently finished accel world which was pretty good. I takes place in the same universe as SAO, but years later. I've also been watching log horizon some. *Edit* also, Durarara (sub or dub) is amazing. If I haven't mentioned it before now, that's a sin. Go watch it, NAO.  :blah: *Edit again* Also remember that I watched Ping pong the animation recently. It's an anime about ping pong (duh) and growing up. It's a pretty short series, but also quite good. Don't be put of by the art, (which isn't so great) the story si pretty good.

My spouse is the one who watches anime, but sometimes I watch too! I have yet to see one series or movie that I disliked, but I can never remember their names :|

Yesterday we watched Patema Inverted and it is exactly the type of movie I like! Fair warning, it made me question my orientation a few times ;D
I've wanted to see Paprika for a while now, and we might be seeing that today!

And for anybody who like humor, I have been a fan of the abridged version of Dragonball Z for the past like 6 years. Very funny, gets the original plot across, and episodes are still being made.

I'd say it's a pretty good list of anime to watch. I'd recommend adding Code Geass to your list as well. Also, I see you have "The Devil is a Part Timer" in there. It is currently my favorite comedy. FMA:B is great, as is Steins;Gate (neither of which I've finished, though, mind you). Death Parade is really great and really emotional, but the first episode is really freaking psychological.
I am Bach.

Ooh, I've seen The Devil Is a Part Timer and it was pretty good! Ky says it's 8/10 because the ending could have been better, but I thought it was decent ending.

Ah yeah, I saw that one, well at least te first episode, isn't it that one the protagonists are in a glasses club and try to invent some fancy x-ray pair of glasses that backfires on them each time?

Stein's gate was excellent. I watched it at calc84maniac's recommendation. The Devil Is a Part-timer I watched about 3/4 of and then quit. I couldn't really get into it. I gave it a shot at a friend's recommendation.

mmm. the first episode makes it seem like it's going to be annoying, but it ends up being brilliant.

made this picture for some reason after finishing it

So I made a MyAnimeList club for Omnimaga: http://myanimelist.net/clubs.php?cid=70060
This way we can have an easily accessible way to view everyone's lists.
