I like a lot about that sketch, Aetios!

I'm thinking the main problem is proportions again- the torso is too long, and the legs a little bit too short ;)

Shape is more important than color. Spend most of your time perfecting the silhouette by erasing and re-doing lines.

See what I mean. These characters have very recognizable silhouettes.

With the names and colors, yes. Remove them and it's a lot harder.
I just came back to this and of course, after viewing it 'clean' it looks much worse. Always the case.
(partially caused by the crappy hair)

Yeah I noticed that. Maybe because I cut off half of the torso >.<

cool!
did you use gimp? i just got a tablet a few days ago and have been trying to figure out the best way to flood fill areas with colour, because using the pen tool leaves a soft transition that's not good for filling (the pen ends up blending into whatever colour was the background before and then immediately jumping to the desired colour) and sticking it on a layer behind is messy and tedious.

I use photoshop and I don't usually flood fill. I use layers and the brush tool.
