whoa, that's a lot of sprites...

and I guess you would only need half of them for animating, as that many sprites is unessicarily too much for a calc of any kind :P

I think I've decided to use the SMW sprites, but thank you!  I would appreciate the background sprites converted, though, if you wouldn't mind.  If those ones don't convert well, we can try these ones.
I also need some enemies :)

By the way, for clarification, those SMB1/3 sprites are from the SNES/GBA remakes of SMB3. The originals were much different. However, since it's for the TI-Nspire, I guess it's best to take advantage of the graphical capabilities to maximum. I just wanted to point that out in case, since a lot of people here were not born in the NES era.

Yeah, I pulled these from Super Mario All Stars, which is a compilation of the early Mario games with a graphical overhaul and slight changes to the physics. I still do prefer the originals to the remakes, they just don't feel the same.  :-\

SMB3 is still a favorite of mine and the cartridge still works, although the controller is really beaten up from being thrown around a lot. Some of those NES games just didn't want you to beat them (looking at you, Contra >:().

TI-Nspire actually has only 15 colors on the screen, so it might be a good idea to have the 16th color represent transparency. The colors 0 and 1 are identical (at least in the OS's color palette; the literal colors sent to the LCD are 15 and 14 in case you care to know). So, you could treat color 0 as transparent. This would save at least a bit per pixel in storage :)

So, NSpire has 15 colours, what about TI-8x calculators (83 and 84)?

scoutdavid: they only have black and white (so 2) but it is possible to program in grey colors by rapidly switching pictures back and forth.
