How about flipping it sideways for a bit higher resolution?

That won't work, since higher than 3x3 still won't fit that way.

This needs a character and HUD (and of course, a better map :P), but you get the idea:

Sonic for sega genesis had the same effect in the background. Maybe make it into a sonic game :)

But the level generator won't be like this... I don't plan to make a room generator atm I would need some help to implement that (or some time to think about it).

IT already support scrolling. I'm still fighting with level generation. It'll be a simple level generator though. I need now to figure how connect the rooms

Heheh! This is just a little code pause. Once it's finished, I should have some new idea for HBE

@Eiyeron: Yea, you need to make sure it doesn't generate unsolvable levels. That would be bad... D:

Heh, hell no! Don't to get that. I don't want to have too a bad layout... Problmes I never have to solve before are hard...

EDIT : I did this to show to someone how his tileset should look on  a calc. THat's almost useless because it's too big to be really enjoyable but this, my friends, this is truly magnificient...
It's not my tileset, but WTFPOTATO, it's beautiful!
