I would probably make the cliff tiles where the stairs are a bit higher and darker so it doesn't look like river borders. Also I am unsure what are those stacked rectangular things with rounded edges? ??? Otherwise I like it a lot :)

DJ_O, thar was farm plots. I'm bad at it. Gonna try a other style :-/
And that for the C&C, I have changes to do. I hope that it's not too messy.

@Eiyeron:

Scaled one of my buildings down from a few pages ago to see how it would look in 8x8. Here's how it looks inserted into your mockup:

The only issue with it is if the programmer wants to maximize character movement freedom so that he can reach as many places as possible, yet doesn't want to deal with sprite masking when the character walks behind stuff. In such cases it might be better to keep buildings closer to multiples of 8 in width and length (15 pixels height would be fine, but not 17).

That's a good point. I didn't consider that. Updated:

Update (see the new tiles on the top). i have still to work on the farm (ugly) plots.

Oh well, sorry for the lateness, but yeah AoC, I like your design. I could use it in a other place.
DJ O : A simple go-through flag will be set for tiles. Either you can go on it, either not. i don't really want to mess with collisions.

Thanks. I really should find a way to draw farm plots. But B&W is quite hard to yield details.

Here's a pretty quick mockup of how H.E.R.O (Atari 2600) would look on the 83+ series.

Ooh I like how it came out :D. I would like to get this game at one point because it reminds me of Hero Core and Metroid, but it seems to be a bit on the expensive side.

Yea, I think Hero Core was actually inspired by it. I actually managed to snag the Atari game a short while ago for 18.58 (shipping included). Also, I need to fix the 9 to make it more consistent looking (with the other numbers), but w/e. I could probably make the 1s thicker too.

Yeah the style is really similar seriously. It's entirely possible that it's the same game but a remake. Hero Core looks much harder, though, because I tried it on a real calc and it gets pretty intense O.O

I played H.E.R.O. on Keoni's 2600 and I can probably say that HeroCore is much easier. This game has invisible death traps and everything plus the controls are weeeirrd.
I'm not a nerd but I pretend:

Ah right I didn't know about that. I guess H.E.R.O is more like CHAOS and Hero Core then? :P
