Edit: I added an atan2 routine too.

Also, Deep Thought, would only one side of the square touch the ground and it would just rotate to keep that one side along the tangent of the slope? Or would it rotate to fall onto other sides, too?

After talking to builderboy a bit I think I can add another section this afternoon. Also deep can I steal that idea of using a square sprite for something I'm working on?

If you write some calculated collision detection, I can give you a pretty thorough explanation of how to do your collision reactions. :D
