nice, what compressor are you using? (unless you mean it's called Spiffy, literally)

It literally is Spiffy Compression, and from his post on UTI I gather it's not working too well (well, the decompressing part doesn't work).

Yeah me too this was looking really cool.

Decompression has been fixed and development can continue forward as sorta planned. I know I'm gonna get some good mileage with the routine, as it lets me go ahead and compress even the more complex images. An additional image was added to the title screen, first as a demonstration of this, and ... well... just to see how the decompressing routine would meet my needs, and sure enough, it does. It's fast enough to do the job. Just a tweak and it's perfect.

Was it definitively due to a bug with the decompressor on ticalc itself or just a mistake in your code? Glad progress still continues. :)

The compressor did not have a bug, per se. The compressor required that the compressed image be in RAM since it needs to modify the original compressed image to perform compression. Someone on UTI's forum provided me with changes that would let me decompress from Flash. It's no fault to the author himself, since it was originally written to work only on an 82, which had no Flash. So... I just tried to make it work outside of its scope.

The demo version of the app has now officially run out of space. The differences, other than one crippling bugfix, should you choose a pacifist style, which has been fixed, include a nonspecific background for the title screen, a screen for the n00bs should you choose "Easy", and a simple story only visible should you choose "Easy". Might tweak one or two things before I post a release.

After this, I'll be working on converting it to a two-page application. Then, I'll be adding in content. I've already got something concrete from someone at my college, so I'll be going for that one. Generic storyline, but it'll be good. Just trying to see how epic the system can get.

At least I'm happy maxed out space doesn't mean cancelled project after demo release x.x, two page app sounds good afterward.

Try it.

If no problems are found, this will be the version that is to be released to ticalc.org. A screenshot will be attached to the one being sent to ticalc.org, but not here since the computer I'm using won't allow uploading of large files, for some inexplicable reason.

EDIT: Removed attachment in favor of more recent posting.

tried it and awesome, but to be honest Idk if I'll even bother trying to beat the game, because it's ridiculously hard. You need to tone down the amount of bullets in easy mode. I don't even see any difference between both lunatic and easy mode so much it is hard. Make sure the space between each enemy bullets is as large as your ship. SOmetimes the enemy bullets patterns gets you trapped and you can't even avoid getting hit
