TI-nspire CAS Ndless Problem?
« on: September 23, 2011, 09:19:42 pm »
Hello! I'm very new to the boards, so excuse me if my topic is in the wrong place. I recently purchased a TI-Nspire CAS, and I am trying to install Ndless onto my calculator. I updated my calculator to 2.1.0, so it should be compatible with Ndless. I used the Student Software to move two files, the 2.1.0 installation file and the resource file, into the "My Documents" folder of the calculator. When i unplugged my calculator and installed Ndless, it told me that it had successfully installed. However, I did not get any new folders from this installation, which I found odd considering all the tutorials showed an "ndless" folder with a demo inside it. Nevertheless, I also moved a Gameboy emulator into the Documents folder, but when I tried to run it, my calculator rebooted. I can only think that my Ndless did not install correctly? Or is there something else that I'm missing? Any help would be greatly appreciated  :)

Hey, welcome to Omnimaga! Someone else also recently had a problem running the gbc4nspire emulator, and it turns out he was using the wrong version. First of all, are you using a clickpad or touchpad model? If clickpad, use the gbc4nspire.tns from here (not the ones in the old_version_for_ndless_1_1 folder). If touchpad, you can try out this version I hacked that supports touchpad controls here.

Thanks a lot! I was able to get the emulator up and running :) My TI-Nspire is a clickpad. However, i encountered another problem... I formatted a ROM file by putting .tnc at the end (ex. Rom.gbc.tnc), but when I moved it to my calculator, it says that I am about to upgrade my calculator. I've tested this on a few roms, but they all seem to do this. Is the upgrade normal...?

.tnc is an Nspire CAS OS upgrade file. The file extension you want is .tns ;)
