- install the latest FA-124 from edu.casio.com (this will install a 32-bit or 64-bit driver)
- connect the USB cable to your calculator
- go to Link menu and set USB as the cable type, then press [F2] for "Receiving..."
- Windows should detect the new hardware and register the FA-124 driver for this device
- if it does not work: connect the calc to another USB port
- press the "Connect" symbol in FA-124 (the calc still shows "Receiving...") to enable PC communication

Not for me, apparently I am supposed to have a disk, which I dont have, in the FA-124 manual

also I connected this once before installing Fa-124 is this anything significant?

Look for CESG502.SYS in your driver directory.

Under Windows XP: .\WINDOWS\system32\drivers
Under Windows 7 (64-bit): .\Windows\SysWOW64\drivers
Under Windows 7 (32-bit): .\Windows\system32\drivers

Have a look at the Windows device manager and check whether Windows actually recognizes a connected USB device. Then manually assign the CESG502 driver if it isn't doing this automatically.

It recognizes it, but doesnt have a driver.

My dad has a masters degree in programming, he couldn't fix it, so I took my last resort option, using a different computer, and this computer works, so its kind of fixed

Yeah sadly with linking softwares, most of the time using a different computer is the only solution >.< (although it isn't as bad for USB-based connections).
