Hi, I think you need some sort of serial cable (9 pin) with the other end that fits in the calc port, but maybe there is also an USB version of it. Those cables (which I forgot the exact name of) are incredibly rare, though, and if you are lucky on Ebay, you might end up spending between $50 and $100,000,000 for one since it's now a collectible.

I have an FX-7400G+ and have yet to find a cable for it (and maybe I won't even be able to use one since my computer lacks a serial port)

Sadly, you are the first FX-7400gII user I meet on the Internet, so it will most likely take a very long while (perhaps months) before someone can answer. If all else fails, you could try to contact Casio, though.

EDIT: According to Casio's website, "Data communication (requires optional 3-pin cable, FA-124 USB for connecting with PC)" http://www.casio-intl.com/asia-mea/en/calc/scientific/graphic/7400g2/?m_no=281

Sadly I don't know, but since this calc is very lower-end and that I haven't heard about such capabilities on similar but higher-end models, I doubt it can. If you are lucky and can find a way to edit program code on the computer, then I think you might be able to copy text into a program then save, but I'm unsure. On the TI-83 Plus, to store note we simply used program files, but only all-caps could be used, so when copy/pasting notes we had to first use a lowercase->caps lock converter.
