Can't login to Casio kingdom
« on: August 04, 2011, 02:12:14 pm »
Today I wanted to log in to Casio Kingdom, and I went to the login field like usual:

Well, the security code CAPTCHA is "Security Code".  ???
So I entered in Security Code, and the maxlength of the textbox is less than the amount of characters in Security Code. *.*
I tried not typing anything in, and it failed with the login. :banghead:

How do I log in?

I have no idea how to log in. My password hasn't been working for a few months, even after I reset it. The admins don't seem to be active anymore, so I don't know if this will be fixed...

I reset it too, and it doesn't work, just like you....

EDIT: Any admins of Casio Kingdom here?

Casiokingdom is broken since April apparently. Notice how the latest posts are a few months old, even though it used to have a few per week. I think the admins left so CK is pretty much dead now :(

There is always Casiocalc.org, but the last time they were totally against calculator gaming, like on the TI-Nspire Google Group. Besides that the only active Casio forum is Planète-Casio, in French.

against calc gaming? Why?
They consider it immature and unproductive. Groups like those tend to focus more on math based projects

List of stuff I need to do before September:
1. Finish the Emulator of the Casio Prizm (in active development)
2. Finish the the SH3 asm IDE/assembler/linker program (in active development)
3. Create a partial Java virtual machine  for the Prizm (not started)
4. Create Axe for the Prizm with an Axe legacy mode (in planning phase)
5. Develop a large set of C and asm libraries for the Prizm (some progress)
6. Create an emulator of the 83+ for the Prizm (not started)
7. Create a well polished game that showcases the ability of the Casio Prizm (not started)

And they got a massive spam problem.

Yeah, I would consider the spam much worse than their view of games. About one page of new topics of spam is created every day, and more than half of the posts in existing topics are spam.

Actually they hired new mods recently if I remember, but yeah now the site is mainly oriented towards general help, so there will most likely not be much support for calc gaming.

OK, let's get some stuff straight. If we were ever against games, we certainly are not now. Just check out file sharing and the Programming/Development section! Also, we have gotten a spam blocker and new mods (all the mods we had before are totally inactive--don't worry, the admin is active). The spam posts have all been deleted. So, if anyone has been turned off from casiocalc.org in the posts above, please reconsider your opinions.

Sincerely,

flyingfisch
Global Moderator of UCF (casiocalc.org)

P.S. I have nothing against the posters above -- their posts were probably made out of ignorance.

Well my opinion (and the one of others) are based on what we saw from our own eyes in December 2010, when we brought up a discussion about Prizm hacking there to discuss the feasability of Prizm games. At that time, we were greeted by people saying calc gaming is stupid and that if we wanted to play games, we should get a gameboy instead, and we were told that calculators should only be used for math, not gaming.

At the time Casiocalc had absolutely no moderator, though, besides 2072 who showed up once a month at the very most. I visited Casiocalc.org since 2004 and before it was very welcoming to game development, because of what you mentionned and also because there is a MLC/CPLua section. It changed around late 2010. Not only that but people on Casiocalc around late 2010 were very hostile to TI users, while over here and Cemetech people are generally friendly towards both TI and Casio programmers. There was some fanboyism going on in addition to the anti-calc-gaming mentality from some of the active users.

I'M glad that Casiocalc got new moderators that are willing to sort things out and give back the UCF its original open-mindedness towards calc development. Normally here we don't criticise other calculator websites unless people there treat us developers like the biggest nuisance in existence at school who promotes playing games in the middle of classes. We had the same problem with the TI-Nspire Google Group and Univers-TI-Nspire.

I am personally willing to contribute again on Casiocalc.org, as long as we are not greeted once again with remarks against calculator games or by a Casio/HP fanboy who bashes TI users like that Supergems guy who almost got banned from Omnimaga in February for it.

That said, welcome here.

I forgive you :)

Also, the admin is on alot more often now and supergems is kind of a misfit anyway. please don't let his opinions represent the casiocalc community. As a casiocalc mod, I'll try to prevent that. Besides, there aren't that many non-game progs that haven't been made, so i agree that people should be more open.

As a last word, Game design is creative, whereas program design isn't necessarily.

That's good to hear. :) And yeah it was just because I had issues with multiple people (some which were guests). Hopefully the new improvements will solve most of those issues and possibly also encourage people to announce their projects there too.
