Did you try in a different browser btw? Sometimes, some sites only works fine in IE. Also if you have IE8, try with both compatibility mode disabled and enabled, in case their site only works fine in IE7.

Yeah. I wouldn't be surprised if this was to encourage us to switch to IE. :P

Since Microsoft owns the site, neither would I. It's still a pain that I'm penalized for using the superior Firefox over IE just because they refuse to hold to any known standards  <_<

Indeed. I really wish companies at least did an effort to make sure their sites work on all browsers, even if there are some minor display issues. I hate it when a site just won't function at all in my favorite browser and it forces me to use another. Generally I find an alternate site in that case.

Or use stuff like Extensions: IE Tab or Firefox Tab or Chrome Tab. It opens a new tab using another browser in the same browser.

The problem is that MSN holds my E-mail account and I get twenty or thirty e-mails a day from various people. It'd be very difficult for me to switch.

What do you mean by holding your account? Couldn't you just create a Gmail then tell people about your new address?

I personally dislike stuff like MSN because generally their anti-spam is not good and they send spam themselves, which cannot be blocked, and with these companies, to get less spam you usually have to pay.

Gmail can forward mail from your old account (and filter it for spam) as part of the signup process.

Here's my question: what does MS get from Internet explorer? They don't charge for it, why not simply give up the big struggle?

Because it'd be a pain to hold two e-mails in the transition period. Most of them aren't in my contacts list for whatever reason, so I usually don't talk to them unless they send me something first.

And their anti-spam is horrible. It filter the most important stuff that I do want and not all of the junk that I don't. Don't even get me started on Bing either...

@Will, they get advertising, brand recognition, and bad press. Who wouldn't want those?

Ah, right. Same here I guess on Gmail. I sometimes have to find an old e-mail from a person or check his forum profile to grab his e-mail. X.x I remember e-mailing someone from UTI once, I think, because I didn't know his e-mail anymore.

Aren't HP calcs pretty good for development too? My friend showed me them the other day; they seemed powerful, and had a C and ASM compiler and I saw some games online for it as well.

They're  supposedly decent, but everything must be done in Reverse Polish Notation.

RPN is very annoying, and they don't have as big of a community based around them.  Thought heir design looks cool and I hear the HPg-50 can program in Lua :)
