Yeah Juju has webspace, but what I meant is that now he only offers webspace for Omnimaga members who have been around for a long while and are very active. Helder7 is not even close to 500 posts and he joined less than one month ago, so we don't know him much yet. Before, Juju would give webspace to any new member, but then everybody just kept asking him non-stop so it became overwhelming. Plus he trusted some new users too much in giving them diskspace, and the result is that eventually someone used Juju's VPS to run forkbombs, causing Omni to go down completely. As a result, no more chances are taken.

Alberthro had similar problems with people constantly asking him for webspace. In fact, we had to move the topic in question to the private section because there were new members joining Omnimaga only to ask him webspace O.O

I think he could hand out an omnimaga.org sub-domain, though.
Doesnt helder7 have webspace though? I mean, how did he get his forum hosted?

wierd. But calc files arent that big, are they?

98-99% of games and applications/utilities do not have 1MB ...

the biggest addin for casio calculators is physium for prizm (+/- 1,5 MB)...

i can host these files in my server... for other files with more than 2MB, i cannot host theses in my server... (windows apps, librarys, sdk tools, OS...)

I use box.com...

i need use a service like dropbox or box.net

the dropbox have 2/3GB space, but have unlimited Bandwidth

i have a 50GB box.net account, but the guests can only make in max a 10GB/Month Bandwidth, its bad :(

the best solution is use dropbox for it, ...

I doubt Casio files really need this much space, though. If I remember, Ticalc.org archives are like 18 GB of files, and they got 40000+ files. Most calc files are around 1-20 KB, although there are of course some exceptions.

Bandwidth-wise, if it ever becomes a problem, maybe you could require registration to download files larger than 500 KB? I know ticalc.org averages at 3.43 GB of bandwidth usage per day with about 5 million hits per month, so if you have about 500000 hits per month (which is not likely to be exceeded for a new Casio-related site) then this makes approximately 100 times fewer bandwidth per day usage.

there are many more applications, games, etc. for Texas than for casio... In addition, texas calculators are the most popular...
in the future if I have Bandwidth problems, will limit the file download for registered users only.

I have other sites/forums and maybe in the future, I will change the hosting company...

currently I am using the hosting services of a small company in the UK, because of the small price, and the owner is my friend...

anyone have any feedback of hostgator? I liked the hostgator BABY plan!

Ah ok. As for Hostgator and 1and1 they're oversellers so for an high traffic site, if it's intensive on MySQL queries you could sometimes get a few errors but otherwise for a non-forum posting based site it should be fine. They're quite cheap for the amount of diskspace and bandwidth they offer. Another alternative is Surpasshosting.

Double post, but I think what happened to Megaupload yesterday (and the fact Mediafire/Rapidshare are most likely next) might convince you to not use those sites to store your site uploads, right?

ClassPad supports BASIC games and also C++ if I remember. I also think there's Lua, although I don't know if it was ever finished.

Classpad lua (CPLua) is finished, there are some Lua games...I was researching and found some.

http://en.classpad.fr/cplua.html

and games here -> http://www.casiocalc.org/to/fsdisplay.php?cat2disp=FS.Classpad.Lua

the basic programs for classpad, i think it works only in classpad, their file type is .MCS and .VCP

there are also addins C++ games/Apps

Put "C/C++" for Fxes too.
ANything that can be compiled with gcc is in theory be able to be put as an addin to a calc.
