MLC being developed for fx-9860G
« on: August 18, 2007, 07:17:00 pm »
I just wanted to inform you that a MLC interpreter is being developed for the CASIO fx-9860G. Maybe this is the opportunity to connect the link between CASIO and TI community again.

I'm sticking with the http://web.archive.org/web/20060505090406/http://dysfunction.earthforge.com/mlc/documentation/readme.txt for now. huhn_m (who works on the MLC AFX) will help me take it to the MLC2 syntax described in the PDF in this http://www.mh-dev.com/Beta4R2.rar

You can always check on the MLC fx-9860G progress here: http://www.casiocalc.org/?s=&showtopic=3170&view=findpost&p=42065

I've started a SourceForge page in order to help maintain and track changes or modifications in the source code through a repository through maybe CVS or SVN: http://sourceforge.net/projects/mlc-calc. If you like, maybe perhaps we could share the SourceForge space. It might make it easier to help people get the latest news, updates and downloads on different MLC interpreters.

Is bfr still working on the 86 and/or 68K port? I haven't heard anything in a long time.

Hmmm... The last update I read (I think) was back in January of this year.

Hopefully it is not dead. If so, maybe someone could pick up where he left off. I think it would be a great idea to be able to merge the communities again.

hello (i'm a casio man )
but i don't think that bfr has let down the mlc for 68k:
i've ported mlc from casio afx2 to ti89 titanium some months ago.
now he have the sources and (probably) use a bit of them to make a version fully compatible with all the ti 68k and which will be more powerful...
keep hope.

in the hope that ti and casio community will be another reunited

As far as I am concerned, the 83+ version isn't dead. As far as I know bfr is still working on the 68k version. I will update you guys probably in September. Sorry, but upcoming school and work have been taking a lot of my time. There has been progress made though, so don't worry. :)smile.gif

Sorry for it taking so long for me to reply - I was in Costa Rica for a while.

"Idk he doesn't post much anymore anywhere and he didnt posted any progress beforehand"  Sorry, and besides Costa Rica, I spent part of my summer in Kentucky helping to repair/build houses of poor people, and summer school, caddying, and staying over at my cousin's house also limited my time to post on these forums and develop MLC 68k.

There has been some progress on MLC 68K, but nothing big.  I've been mostly doing some work on the tokenizer, which converts MLC source code into smaller (which also makes them faster to interpret) programs.

kucalc:  Awesome!  I noticed on the Universal Casio Forum:

QUOTE

Sorry to say, but it uses the MLC1 standard. I did it for two reasons:

1. I'll wait for huhn_m so we both of us can take it to MLC2.
2. The TI guys working on MLC for TI calcs still use syntax similar to MLC1. Or at least I believe so, I'll have to contact them.

So far, I think most of the features implemented are in MLC1 and MLC2.  I think.  I'll have to get on my computer that has the MLC 68K source code....  Anyway, I've implemented a "sine" command to calculate the sine of a number, given its angle in degrees.  The thing is, I don't think it's in MLC1 or MLC2, yet.  Do you think I should just remove it?  I just thought that it'd be kind of useful, though.

samy:  Welcome to Omnimaga!

Yeah, samy has started (and made significant progress on) his own version of MLC 68K, and he kindly let me have the sources, so now we can combine our MLC 68K sources to make a super  pwnage MLC 68k.   :lol:bounce2.gif
