I think he means kind of like how C works -- where you only include the files you want to use in the program -- but instead these are loaded on calc, and are copied into the program/Ram or something before use.

On an off-topic note, I noticed that when you pull a battery during a program, while the RAM is not cleared, it seems to restore it to a previous state than it was when you turned it ON. For example, I had Sjasogun1 RPG on my Prizm, then I started writing a test BASIC program. Afterward, when runnign Insight graphical demo, I removed a battery, then the calc turned back ON, asking me the language and battery settings. My program was gone, but all Sjasogun1 files were back. I assume the RAM is stored in another RAM area or maybe even the Flash when turning the calc OFF, right?

Yes, files are backed up in Flash storage when you save them.

By saving you mean turning OFF the calc, right? I never manually put them there.

No, simply putting them on the calc appears to do it. I think the OS copies them to flash automatically.

Ah maybe. That's good in some ways in case later we have ASM/C libs for BASIC coders and crashes can occur. We don't lose our entire progress then.

A bit offtopic, but is it Japanese that is preinstalled on the Prizm?

I believe we've figured out that it's actually Chinese, but I'm not sure, and I can't remember when this was discovered.

About the languages, anyone figured out what's the purpose of Language file deletion options in the System/reset menu? For me it didn't even seem to do anything.

There are two kinds of languages - pre-installed languages and add-in languages. Only add-in languages can be deleted. (Of course, I might be wrong... As you know, I don't have a Prizm)

I see. I assume this would mostly apply to official add-ins, not the community ones, right (unless someone can make a bilingual utility)?

It applies to add-ins that translate the system into other languages, kinda like the language apps on the 83+/84+.

Oh ok, but what are the uses of them if the calc is already translated in the first place? ???

...The DMAC-address for this operation is 0xFE008020 (channel 0). The address of DMAOR is 0xFE008060...Every single register-address involved in accessing the display does not occur in the 7705- or 7720-lists...
I just noticed that the DMAC-address of the Prizm belongs to the 7730. I would not be surprised, if it turnes out, that parts of the Cyberdyne Systems Model 101 Series 800 have been used, too.
I'll be back.

The calc isn't translated into every language yet, so it's possible that Casio will release new translations using add-ins.
