How do I install Addins onto a fx-9750gii turned fx-9860
« on: August 11, 2017, 02:27:04 am »
I went searching online for some information online on how to convert my fx-9750gii to a fx-9860gii and I eventually got it to work (e-act and spreadsheet show), then I found that people had periodic tables on their calculators from addins. I would like to know how I could get the addins installed.
(Also I can't us the bootcode anymore, as every time I try it has a square at the top right and loads to the main menu)

For those who want to know:
Version of calculator before flash 02.02.0701
Version of calculator after flash 02.02.0201

You can find some addins on casios website.

Click accept, scroll all the way down to the "fx-9860GII/fx-9860G series" tab. Then click on addins. The periodic table addin is called "Physium"

I also need your help. When I converted my fx-9750gii to a fx-9860gii, I made a backup of the fx-9750 os. But now that backup is corrupt.  :(
I was wondering if you could give me a copy of your fx-9750 os.

Try the file I attached, I don't know if it still works cause my bootcode doesn't seem to work.

I tried it but it didn't work. I'm guessing it doesn't work because the file size is 0 kb. My file has the same issue as yours.
The little square at the top. I think you might have to unplug the usb cable. That's what I did, then it worked

I think you might just be doing it wrong. Try this:
1. Turn off your calculator, wait a couple seconds
2. Hold the restart button
3. While still holding the restart button, press F2, 4 then AC/On (MAKE SURE YOU DO IT IN THE SPECIFIC ORDER)
4. Let go of the restart button while still holding the other buttons
5. Let go of the buttons in this order, F2, 4, AC/On (The screen should be blank)
6. Press AC/On, then 9, then x

If this doesn't work then I don't know. Also important note, make sure you wait a couple seconds in between each step

Do you have the flach for 02.02.0701, can you please email it to me?

I wanted to know how you even install the fx-9860 firmware. I have one of these calcs but it's useless to me because I don't have addins. Any good tutorials?

Definitely very late as I had moved on from this and also sorry about necroing the thread. But for anyone who stumbles upon this, this is the link to the blog post I used to upgrade my fx-9750gii OS to the one used by the fx-9860gii: https://web.archive.org/web/20171227231438/https://www.oscarvl.review/2017/06/how-to-upgrade-fx-9750gii-to-fx-9860gii.html
