I finally got my PRIZM! It only took 3 weeks to get delivered (shipped on Dec 22nd)

I kinda like it in general, they did not change the button and OS layout over the previous calc models so I could get used to it fast. It's still the TI-86 style menus and a graphical menu where you access the calc built-in applications or add-ins.

Unfortunately I haven't tried math BASIC yet, but sadly the stuff that is drawn on the graph screen is quite slow (takes from 0.3 to 0.5 seconds to display anything). However, Locate/Output is relatively fast, no matter if you use colors or not. As for the calc, the only gripe I have is that scrolling can be a tad slow and in the PRGM editor I could not find a CLEAR equivalent (although that can be a good thing).

One thing for sure, the BASIC language offers much more freedom than the TI-Nspire. I would say this slow PRIZM BASIC trumps the Nspire faster but limited language by far. Btw the language syntax is almost the same as previous calcs but with some more functions. The syntax to display colored stuff is pretty much the same as the old CFX-9850G (Green Locate 1,1,"HELLO WORLD" and things like that).

Since I just got the calc this afternoon and am busy, I still have to mess around some more with it. I'll not be able to send a mem dump for now, I'll wait when I get more free time. I also need to install some softwares and stuff anyway.

ANYWAY, now on-topic: I made a video showing the calc in action! On Youtube I couldn't find any (Critor3000 has videos showing the different functions, but they don't show the actual calculator in action):



Near the end I run a small program showing an incrementing variable content in rainbow flashing colors.

Indeed. Also I tried For 1->A To 1000:Next and it runs at the exact same speed on both my Prizm and 9860G. ALso I can even send programs between the calcs. Prizm-only commands just changes to @ on the older model and is ignored.

It's so dark in there DJ, I am also wondering how you recorded that lol, but nice, thanks, I was looking for something like this.

A few more years and we'll take our calculator to call our parents when we don't have transport to get home, and our phone to make graphs and schemes during math.

Lol indeed. Actually maybe there are special chars that are smileys, I would have to check, but there is a glitch with using colors and special chars. X.x

The calc costed me around $135 in Canadian dollars. I forgot how much shipping costed, but I think it was close to $10. It took 3 days to be shipped and 3 and half a week to arrive.

Umm 3 and a half weeks to arrive. What is that supposed to mean.

I believe he is referring to it taking 3 days for Casio to start shipping it, and another 3 weeks before it actually arrived.
