It seems the bot tries to create a tinyurl too fast and tinyurl can't keep up. He needs to maybe do like Alberthrocks bot...

I saw that bug before as well, except that it actually displayed the entire # anchor. Strangely, though, the message number was the same as the message before it that got displayed correctly

At least it is not as bad as the old bot we had back in April. It used to have TinyURL support but it did not let the site enough time to create a TinyURL and sometimes reported wrong tinyURLs. Result: potential of landing on a pr0n site instead of Omni

Someone could copy the tinyurl link directly to someone else who's never been on Omni, which could give them the impression that Omni is that kind of site.

My bot checks to make sure that the server didn't 500 fail, and it does not keep a cache. If it fails, it tells it in the IRC, and will use a full link instead.

Looks like Netham45 either needs to add more checks or change programming language...

It's happening when TinyURL reports a bogus link, alright. I'm not keeping anything cached, because of how it works, there's no program continuously running, other than mIRC, and that's just reading lines of text from a text file.

in any case, good luck finding a solution if there's any. Hopefully it wont get too bad, . What I like with the new bot is that when someone posts, a script notifies the bot on IRC directly from a SMF hack so posts are reported in real time without taking the board bandwidth.

Hmm, it looks like the "3m" is actually part of the tinyurl link... Does that mean anything?

I've also seen it post only the post number, but with the # before it, so it seems like SpyBot just occasionally posts a small chunk of the post

Is this a SpyBot bug or an OmnomIRC bug, though? Maybe it's posted correctly, but Omnom didn't display it right.

Yeah it really seems like the bot sometimes doesn't output the entire new post notice, seeing as it also misses the "New post by" part. I think this is a spybot bug

This doesn't seem to be an OmnomIRC glitch. I never use Omnom, and the glitch appears anyway.
