is it easy to convert games from older RM to new ones, like 2003?

I guess you are rewriting the game from scratch then if you are now making it for 2003 :(sad.gif

Yeah, I am... that's okay, though, it's looking a LOT better.

In the meantime, I have to say it now: I HATE creating towns!

Town creation can be a pain, luckily I don't have to do many for Aura (since much of it takes place on largely uninhabited planets). :)smile.gif

Dang, that's rather easy.  Oh well, a decent portion of this game HAS to be in civilization.

For the first few worlds, there will be no towns or shops, nor indeed any intelligent beings at all. You are completely alone, and except for your suit and charge knife, you have to make do with what you can find. In most of the game, weapons and items are acquired because A.) you find them, B.) you beat a certain enemy, or C.) you solve a certain puzzle. Shops will be rare, since when you are in civilization, friendly NPCs will give you items important to the plot (and it seems rather unlikely that creatures on vastly different worlds all happen to use Gil or whatever money system), or else you are in a hostile city, so you can't very well go into a shop.

Sorry for stealing this topic, feel free to split this into the Aura forum.

that reminds me Quest 64, which had lot of items to find, but there was no shops at all. But what if you run out of stuff to heal yourself and no more power to rely on magic or whatever powers to heal yourself? I guess it means you have to restart the game from scratch then and try to not run out of items at the end, right?

back on topic: any new progress so far on TUS?

After a bit of a break, I've continued working.  I spent the last two days without power, so I summoned up my strength to set to work on the town and the events within today.  I've added new equipment that is gender-specific and some events that lead up to the second dungeon.

I also decided that there should be some sort of twist to this game, so I'm considering adding in a little date simulator somewhere in here.  I'm not sure how it's going to work, but it should be fun.
