Block Shot Fortress - A Bloxel/FPS/MOBA Game

So I've been working on this game with epic7 (though he's been on vacation, so he hasn't done much yet) called Block Shot Fortress.

Here is the official announcement/first dev update video:



As you see, not much yet. Multiplayer is our next priority, then the FPS, then the TF2 MOBA elements, then making better graphics. Let us know what you think!

Current Team:

Person who got the team together: Me
Coders: Epic7, Me
Graphic design/models: An IRL friend of mine named Mike
Website making: Sorunome (I think)
Website design: A few IRL friends of mine (maybe, still tentative)
Concept art: An IRL friend of mine (if he is not going to be too busy with college)

Ooh, an other jMonkeyEngine coder.

The combination of voxels and fps seems quite interesting. I can't wait to see how the gameplay turns out.

I noticed that the video is quite laggy. jMonkeyEngine has a video recorder appstate. Maybe you'll get better results if you use that.

BTW: did you code your own voxel engine or did you use a plugin?

I'll check into the video recording appstate

I used the "cubes" plugin: http://hub.jmonkeyengine.org/wiki/doku.php/jme3:contributions:cubes

The current play style will have two phases: build phase and play phase. The build phase allows placing non-destroy-able blocks and placing and removing destroy-able blocks to build a base. The play phase allows placing and removing destroy-able blocks.

Update: I made the mistake of saying TF2-like. It will be more like an FPS MOBA.

Expect progress soon, because school's started for me, and will start soon for epic7!

No, It's like a MOBA (DOTA, LoL, etc.) with FPS and minecraft elements.

The first step in the engine is bloxel (MC), then FPS, then MOBA.

Yes, that's true. I believe that a game with a similar mechanic (minus the bloxel) is Monday Night Combat.

The bloxel will add a strategy element as well as multiple planes of gameplay (tunneling, building above, etc.).
