think short flute with insanely high range.  The players have to wear ear plugs when they play.

Oh right. In MTVMG software you can use some instrumets at unusually low or high range. SOme sounds can be insane or sound like totally different instruments. X.x There are 6 octaves available and when usign 11 KHz instruments quality octaves are two octaves higher.

Sounds good. I think this will fit the game quite well.

Spoiler For IMPORTANT NEWS!:
Late last night, Quebec was invaded by a group calling themselves, "Omnimaga". Not much is known about these mysterious people except that they all carried calculators of some kind and they all seemed to converge on one house in particular. Experts estimate that the combined power of their fabled calculators is greater than all the worlds super computers put together. The group seems to be holding out in the home of a certain DJ_O, who the Omnimagians claim to be their founder. Such power has put the world at a standstill with everyone waiting to see what the Omnimagians will do...

Wait... This just in, the Omnimagians have sent the UN a list of demands that must be met or else the world will be "submitted to the wrath of Netham45's Lobster Army". Such demands include >9001 crates of peanuts, sacrificial blue lobsters, and a wide assortment of cherry flavored items. With such computing power stored in the hands of such people, we can only hope these demands are met.

In the wake of these events, we can only ask, Why? Why do these people make these demands, what caused them to gather, and what are their future plans...

Could anyone help us make graphics for the environment for Daemons (like trees, ground, grass, etc)? They should be in color and 64x64 tiles. For larger things like trees, you can use multiple 64x64 squares. And after we finalize the list of Daemons which we are trying to condense down to around 20-30, we will need those also. If anyone is interested, we can give you more information on what we need.

I'M glad to see this is still alive, but this unfortunately is the wrong board to ask Pixel Art requests. Please use the Pixel Art and Drawing forum for that, else your request will most likely be ignored.

Yes the project's still alive, thanks fo yhe redirection to th pixel art forums. Though I am trying to get someone on it from deviant art atm but I'll definately ask there if it doesn't happen. Actually, all we need is graphics before we can show you all a few screenshots. I hope to have them by next week (even if they must completely suck to do so :D )

Ah ok. Nowadays when people ask programming or pixel help in their project thread, I redirect them to the appropriate sections, otherwise people who visit only the help section will miss their request.

Ok, a but of an update, the game is going through a split.

Calcfreak89 will be making his own, open sourced version while I'll be making my version in RPG-Maker. (Meaning that my version will take MUCH less time to make :P ) So, a bit of good news. I will still be making a calc version when finished.

calcfreak89, what language are you using?
C++ with the library SFML.
So basically it runs insanely fast since SFML uses OpenGL, and it is cross-platform.

Sounds like a cool project! I'm no good at what you need, but my sis is a pretty good artist. she hates doing pixel art though. :P she might be interested though, I could ask her.

Cool, but I still need to fully design and plan out the game before I can tell people exactly what I need, if you have any cool ideas for this 2D RPG just post them here. Oh and my version is not going to be like Pokemon. Also, I came up with a cool idea for another game (an RTS/defensive/strategy-like game), I will start on that after I finish the 2 games I'm working on now.

When you say not like pokemon, what are you referring to? Art style? Story? gameplay?

Well the storyline and gameplay will be a lot different, because it will actually have a storyline, and the gameplay is going to be totally different (there will be battles though, but they are real-time instead of turn based, your trainer can fight, and you can have multiple daemons out at once, etc). Now for art, I just want it to look good (don't exactly know what kind of art, maybe cartoonish or 2.5D or pixel art???), but again, I haven't planned enough out to continue development right away.
