Hey Guys,
Over my school I found out that HP is hosting a programming competition in March, I'll probably be participating and I wanted to give you guys the chance to do so too!
Here's a link: http://www.hpcodewars.org/

Agh, it's a competition for high school students :P
-
Registration is locked? D:
-
My school has a computer club that will definitely be interested in this. I may be able to go. I have to check dates though.
It sounds interesting
EDIT:How many people can there be per team and does it cost to register?

No costs as far as i know and i recall saying somewhere per school max 4 teams each max 3 members
-
Do I have to leave my house to do this? :P
-
Yes :P

If I can get a team together and find a way to get to Houston I'll be there
-
I think they also have places in other cities, lol, because for me is no way to go there and teachers went to me and asked if I wanted to join and they said it wasn't far. (I'm near sacramento)
-
The only one listed on their site is in Houston. You might want to check with your teacher on location
-
Seems interesting. If you participated, be sure to let us know what you entered when done :D

I did that and there is one in Roseville, near Sacramento too.

Everybody gets a bunch of tasks and has to solve as many as possible in three hours :D

I'm getting the computer club from my school to go. It depends on what the principal says now, but I should be at the one in Houston.
-
That is awesome! Keep in mind: I recall it were 4 teams per school max and per team max 3 students.
Currently it looks as if i'm the only one of my school XD
-
The person running the comp club will set up the other teams. I told him the 4 teams with 3 people rule. I'm on one the advanced team they'll be sending
-
Oh, that's nice. I'll probably not do the advanced one as I lack self-confidence :P
and btw, max one pc per team and no smart phones :P
-
Yeah I saw that. Are we allowed to bring any computer we want and what restrictions are there on what can be on the comp or that we can use?
-
As far as I know we can bring our own pcs........IDK about oses, but as python and java are interpreted it doesn't matter there, the more problemetic part is C/C++/C#
-
They specify windows for what it has to compile on. They say it has to compile to a DOS executable or something like that.
I was more wondering if skeleton files would be bad or not.
