Fedora vs Ubuntu

I'm going to install Linux on the new computer I'm building. Whenever I've asked people which distro of Linux I should get, the response was either Ubuntu or Fedora. At the moment, I'm downloading Fedora, but I can easily change my mind.
I'm looking for something that can fit on a 700mb CD, isn't too hard to install and configure, is user-friendly, but it is also reasonably fast and powerful. I don't care much about good multimedia support, although it would be a nice bonus.
EDIT: I'm getting Ubuntu, but even though I'm staff here, I don't have the ability to delete my own pole. -.-

?? I thought he did... and that's why he was asking which linux he should get for it...
I have no idea either, I use windoze for it's directx goodness. Whenever I have enough $$$ to build a new desktop, I'll put linux on this laptop. I dunno which one I will use though.
I voted fedora because I wear a beat up old fedora every day. Hats rock! =D

from what i heard:
Linux: best for programmers
Windows: best for gamers (since lot of games are windows only)
Mac: best for multimedia

I dunno really.
I would recommend to get a Desktop-CD of eaach and try it out
(It's a cd that starts Linux from cd, including the graphical interface. No data written to HD.)

Hmm... when I used linux, I only remembered three main ones that I used: SUN version of Linux, Mandrake, and SUSE, but that was like 3 yrs ago so I dunno what these versions are.
And Kevin, thats true. Also, Linux/Mac are good in security

I don't know much, but try
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linux_distribution#Notes
. <- it leads to the notes btw, which has a couple links to some sites where you can answer some questions to see which distro is right for you.
iirc, someone told me ubuntu is most like windows and is the easiest for beginners.
but someone else told me Fedora is a power house for mid -experience people. Fedora 6 should be much easier to install cuz I heard that Fedora Core 5 was a PAIN to install.
