Title: Mouse
Post by: Netham45 on October 20, 2007, 02:46:00 pm
Just got a new Logitech LX7 mouse. So far it is nice, it is heavy which I like. It is wireless, too. It has a 4D scroll wheel, and pageup/down buttons that don't work with the mac I am currently using it on, but when I get home, they should be nice. :Dbiggrin.gif

4D scroll wheel, as in you can scroll and click the wheel left-right (and center)?
The page up and down beats my mouse. . . Dang. (LX5)

Mmm, it looks pretty nice--has a good shape and decent resolution. I do not like heavy mice though. I have the MX518 which doesn't have the tilt scrolly and is not wireless but it has even higher resolution and more buttons. It is also ridiculously lightweight which I really like. I'm a twitch gamer (counter-strike) so it's been an awesome mouse for me.

I hate roller ball mice because of the stickyness it's really f***ing annoying for gaming.

I like a heavy mouse, and the mouse is able to transmit battery info and such to my PC which is just awesome. :Dbiggrin.gif I upgraded from a Logitech Optical Mouse(some $10 mouse) that had 2 buttons, scroll wheel, and was wired. I replaced the ball mouse on my old PC with that one.

I also got 1GB of ram. *Netham45

if you have a compaq Pc that came with a ball mouse, you might need to just upgrade the Compaq.

You should get a http://www.3dconnexion.com/.
I use something similar to this at work to design parts with CAD.

It has 6 degrees of rotational freedom, and 2 more if you include pressing and pulling (the model I use supports this).
They're a bit more pricey than a regular mouse, but I bet you could totally pwn in games with one of these.

I like to game. :Dbiggrin.gif
I got a new mouse purely because my old one was like spiraling the mouse around, and it was killing me in games.

g28401, your post count is 314

They are horrible for gaming. I don't know how I used to stand it. Even top of the line ball mice can't compare with the cheapest optical ones. You have to leave the sensitivity really low for a ball mouse to have any real accuracy. I needs me twitch sensitivity!

and after a while they start getting less better accuracy and it jumps

nah, if you shell out at least $30 you're probably going to get a pretty decent mouse.

i don't game, so that's no issue ^^

though I wish I had a mouse w/ no ball.  It's smoother.

I got a optical mouse for $14.99 once, and I saw some at $10. THey generally have something that breaks fast though

Actually I have a MS mouse that I got for $10 and it's been pretty good. It's rather inaccurate on weird surfaces but with a mousepad it's fine. If you jack the sensitivity to max in windows it makes it better too. For the price, MS mice are nice.

I love my mouse. :)smile.gif
Yea, I had a good microsoft $10 mouse, but it doesn't like weird surfaces, and the scroll wheel on it got busted.

Geeze, i got my logitech optical mouse some time ago when my old mouse bit the dust and let me tell you, the difference between optical and ball mouse is phenominally diffrent. At work we still have ball mice and the move like mud compared to what I have at home. Also, ball mice seem more prone to breaking. When I was in school we couldnt keep those things in work order for nothin! I can't imagine going back !*shudders*

I'd buy an optical mouse to take to work.
