Thanks for the shorter explanation. Actually a lot of things can be called 3D, but aren't necessarly. I think in the fake 3Ds raycasting is the one that looks 3D the most. Then it would be Mode 7 when used with sprites like trees and a scrolling background. Heck, Sonic 3D Blast on the sega genesis isn't even 3D, it's isometric and it's still called 3D in the title. Another example is Space Harrier 3D. Even Donkey Kong Country and Super Mario RPG was considered 3D by some people. Heck, Lotus Turbo Challenge is, too :P

Keep up the good work Calc84maniac.

Well that's not entirely true, raycasting can use angles other than 90 degrees, for instance the bcd (or maybe it's bsd? bsomethingd in any case) style engines, which are still technically ray casters, but use a different map type. Also voxel engines are a style of raycasting and they can display complex curves. (pixelated, but all engines are at some level of magnification)

lol I forsee a TI calc with touchscreen and wifi for 2095 :P

Touchscreen may come earlier though, considering Casio did it a few years ago, but I think they should first make their latest product programmable. Heck, even math programs are close to being impossible to make in them
I wish there was like, a TI calc with 3 color screen like that Casio one
knowing what TI programmers have already accomplished, I think they'd even be able to get like 12 colors out of that with ease

nice necroposting :P

But no there were no TI calc with color. Only the Casio FX-9850G/9950G

If you meant the Voyage 400 calc then it was fake (April Fools prank at ticalc.org in 2003)

I thought that there was a mod somewhere to have a TI with color? There was a program for it and had schematics and such, not sure where I saw or it what it was called, but I the program was in french.

It was the blue line bug. It sends so much electricity to the screen. The lcd appears blue.

I believe you honestly read his sentence wrong. But he never said there was a TI with color, just that he wished there was.  (I am assuming this was an unedited post. Otherwise ignore me"

oh wait i misread, I missed the word "wish". My bad x.x

Also on the 83+SE, 84+ and 84+SE (not the 83+ nor Nspire), rapidly changing the contrast back and forth from a very low to very high value) causes the screen to turn blue, but not as much as with the blue lines/screen of death thing. Basically, the liquid crystal doesn't appear like it's leaking

Just don't let the calc in BSOD mode for like more than 1 minute, though. It can damage the LCD
