Btw the portal is less eye-hurting compared to the rest of the map now. Is that better? :P

The other tiles are the problem.
Due to dissatisfaction, I will be inactive on Omnimaga until further notice. (?? THP hasn't been much success and there's also the CE. I might possibly be here for a while.)
If you want to implore me to come back, or otherwise contact me, I can be found on GitHub (bluebear94), Twitter (@melranosF_), Reddit (/u/Fluffy8x), or e-mail (if you know my address). As a last resort, send me a PM on Cemetech (bluebear94) or join Touhou Prono (don't be fooled by the name). I've also enabled notifications for PMs on Omnimaga, but I don't advise using that since I might be banned.

That was a joke. I'm certainly not gonna use the above ;D

I'm really contemplating re-using the switch where you put a seal of water on in the video, which I heavily updated the other day as mentionned above, but some colors might be different and it might be glowing a bit. It will certainly blend much better with the rest.

Here's my attempt at a portal sprite, what do you think?

That looks nice, although I would rather have prefered that it remains closer to a square form. I might use it for something else, though.

Currently I am working a bit on the HUD. I'm contemplating adding day and night time like in Zelda, although I am not sure how easy it will be to implement. The main  issue is that in RPG Maker, when changing the screen tint/hue/brightness, it persists over next areas when you enter doors and stuff, which is problematic if you enter or exit a dungeon where night effects are disabled. I also designed some graphics for one of the new dungeon, although that dungeon will most likely be optional for obvious reasons: :P

night/day would be really nice ö couldn't you make your own routine for that? that just reselects the colors to a darker tint?

also
Spoiler For ö:
that's kinda trippy ö

Well my main concern is due to the way transitions work in the RM engine, when exiting a dungeon, the tint would not change automatically. It would change right after you entered the other room/went outdoors and the transition between rooms is over, which might kinda look weird. Of course, however, I could always use a separate transition routine for when I need to disable day/night transitions.

Should time stop when inside dungeons/towns, like in Zelda Ocarina of Time? Or should it continue flowing non-stop?

yeah, stop time... it's less realistic, but it's nice to be able to come out of a town at the same time that you came in ;)

Ok. My main concern about not stopping it was that it would be hard to code all those NPC events making them go inside when night arrives and having monsters pop up as soon as moon rises or something in every single overworld map. Also, NPC interaction would be hard since sometimes you would not have time to do some quests and then be forced to wait several minutes before sun rises again.

On the other hand, time flowing anywhere would let me implement some special events where I have a limited amount of time to do something. :P

(Btw finally the graphics in dungeons and caverns kinda went the same way they did in Final Fantasy I  remake for the Playstation 1 and GBA. Also stuff is missing in the blue circle: It's gonna be the time)

To compare, here's a screenshot of the same area but from the 2003 version of the game:

And here's the current title screen (where you select new game or not)

(Note that despite the game being 256x224, the save/load screens will be 320x240, due to RPG Maker limitations.)
