I'm not a hardcore gamer at all, but from what I see in LoL (league of legends), I think Riot (the editor) implemented well the F2P way of gaming, with pay items not giving [too much of an] advantage to players (at least at my level...)

Insert sugar to begin programming subroutine.

Would the developers then have to include their own internal method of payment?

There's supposed to be tools available for the developer in the DevKit to allow integration with the store. So I assume the developer has the option to include internal methods of payment. But it certainly is not a required thing, I would assume.

IMPORTANT NEWS!
:
Late last night, Quebec was invaded by a group calling themselves, "Omnimaga". Not much is known about these mysterious people except that they all carried calculators of some kind and they all seemed to converge on one house in particular. Experts estimate that the combined power of their fabled calculators is greater than all the worlds super computers put together. The group seems to be holding out in the home of a certain DJ_O, who the Omnimagians claim to be their founder. Such power has put the world at a standstill with everyone waiting to see what the Omnimagians will do...
Wait... This just in, the Omnimagians have sent the UN a list of demands that must be met or else the world will be "submitted to the wrath of Netham45's Lobster Army". Such demands include >9001 crates of peanuts, sacrificial blue lobsters, and a wide assortment of cherry flavored items. With such computing power stored in the hands of such people, we can only hope these demands are met.
In the wake of these events, we can only ask, Why? Why do these people make these demands, what caused them to gather, and what are their future plans...

how do you mean? like you hate them now, or they're going broke?
Steam is very popular, especially its offers it gives with summer, holidays etc. so i don't really get why it would be dying..
a gaming pc in the living room only for steam is something you only buy if you have too much money imo. they're expensive and they 'expire' after a while, so you would have to buy a new one (or at least new graphics card, cpu etc) every year/2 years, so that's just not reliable imo

I like Steam because at least it gives us the chance to have game deals we wouldn't get anywhere. In retail stores, most games are about $10-20 more expensive than on Steam most of the time when on sale, and don't get me started on Walmart (at Walmart, some games from 4 years ago are still $29.99-49.99).

Not to mention some of the huge sales Steam offers regularly. I've been able to get most of my games for under $10 because I was able to take advantage of 50%-75% off deals. That's a huge benefit to gamers like myself with low income.
