My Prediction)The Aliens that you fought in HL1 come from Xen to help Gordon and Alyx fight the combine. It looks like Alyx dies or something and one of the aliens zaps her back to life, but Im not sure, and that is purely guesses based off of the teaser.

 Ah you are right @ steam preload. Also @ second ppg - have you not played hl2? Vortigaunts in HL1 were the slave laborers and army grunts for the other aliens. They joined the human resistance against the combine in HL2 'cause they didn't want to be slaves no more.
