I was thinking the other day (which is always a bad sign
), and I came up with an idea for a really cool gaming system.
We have virtual reality stuff (I've never actually used this, but...)
And we have the Wii.
put one and one together and you get: totally awesome games where
you
actually run around, etc.
It would be like Wii (physically active and stuff), but so much cooler.

I've thought about this, and actually gone further. I thought that it would be totally enclosing in which you could use your senses and totally interact with the world around with you. Then I realized that I was just thinking about the Matrix.

that would be cool, but it better be something where you don't have to run around. Otherwise, the audience would be very small. I myself live in appartment and while the living room is not too small by appartment standards, it is barely large enough to play Wii games.

You just summarized Project Natal (now formally known as the kinect) for the 360. The wii's sensors are not ideal for this sort of thing, but the kinect is.

Well for that, you would need linkin/online capabilities in the first place, unless you did it like Star Ocean 4 and Fable 2 and turned it into a single-player RPG that plays in the style of MMOs.

Basically its like the Matrix, which i think would be totally the coolest thing ever! Too often in games i wished i had the field of vision i did in real life. Too often i wished i could hear as well, being able to actually track people better. And too often i wished i could do things that would be physically possible, but not in the constraints oft he game. Making a full on Virtual Reality would be the awesomest thing ever to come to video games!
