The title is explanatory.
I saw what a DS can do, and noticed I was able to count the pixels and the polygons, in other words the graphics were awful. However, most games seemed to have an interesting gameplay.
Hence the question : does the 3DS improves the graphical experience without lowering the gameplay experience ?

(note, I don't care about 3D, if I had a 3DS I'd always turn 3D off)

Honnestly, no. Unless you like Pokemon, you won't find many games that worth it.

You get a PSP quality more or less. Not much more. Nintendo never shined for their graphic power.

Nintendo are not known for epic graphics because they focus more on innovative features (the console being pocket sized, dual screens, touch screen, 3D, etc.) than a rush for performance. And their graphics feel really good with the games that are made for it. Same goes for home consoles.

That's right, until past months. They have paid DLC for NSMB 2 !? Oo" Do you imagine a Mario game with paid content? And that's not even for a 2nd playthrough or a new adventure, it's just a bonus for the rush mode they added...

Plus the innovation goes too far, or not far enough, I don't know, but I don't feel the Nintendo Touch anymore I could feel on a SNES game. I almost had it with NSMB Wii or NSMB2 buuut the latter had the same musics/plot advancement than the former, I think I just played a recycled NSMB+NSMBWii with a Tanooki Mario... I'm clearly disappointed by the new philosophy of Nintendo, but I'm still hoping for a good turn for the next games/generations.

Anyway, some games you should have is Mario KArt, Zelda3D, Star Fox (hint : set your console in English to hear the memetic "Do a barrel roll", they translated it), Petit Computer and, why not, a Mario Game.

Personally, I prefer GBC graphics

Yeah, and to quit the offtopic, they rereleased them on the Virtual Console section for the 3DS. YOu should totally get them.
