Pokemon X and Y are supposedly really good! Mario kart is also cool!
If you like my work: why not give me an internet?

IMO Yes it is worth it, there are some sweet games on the platform!

I've been quite enjoying mine. To give you an idea of graphics, they Re-released "The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time" on the 3DS. The graphics look smoother and better than the original that was on the Nintendo 64. I've also quite been enjoying Pokemon X. Pokemon Black and White were 3D, and pushed the original DS hardware. These new games are leaps and bounds better though. I also just got the new Legend of Zelda title. I haven't put much time into it yet, but it seems quite nice so far. I definitely recommend it. :)

Good to hear then since I wanted one too. Now is the XL really worth the major price bump ?

Ah not elsewhere than America, AC/DC supplier isn't supplied with the XL...

Good question actually. When I got my Zelda game, I upgraded to the XL. It isn't really necessary, but;

1.)The design of the original leaves minor imprints on the screen when closing it. This is caused by the raised plastic around the lower screen touching the upper screen. I'm unsure if Nintendo ever addressed this.

2.)The screen size difference really is huge. The XL also might not fit as well into pockets...

3.)There is a 3DS XL Bundle on sale now that is $219 with the new Zelda game (which sells for $40 alone as a digital download).

*Edit*@Eiyeron: They don't include an AC/DC charger worldwide? That's really strange... Just FYI, the original 3DS charger (or a DSI charger) works with the 3DS XL. At least for the US versions of the product.

All my calcs fit in my pockets so it's no issue for me. :P

I like the 3DS personally. Lots of the Mario games are worth it, as well as the RPGs. I'm not fond of 3D, though, so I wish that they made a 2DS earlier (one that you can fold, though).

Yeah, same, I don't want to pay for a feature I'll always disable but I'd like to fit the device in my pockets lol.

Ok, thanks for your opinion too :)

Now to decide among several choices:
  • Get one myself without telling my parents (like, I'm 19, I don't care anyway)
  • Get one myself and tell my parents afterwards so they pay back :P
  • Ask my parents to get me one (most honest choice, but the one most subject to fail)

And
  • XL (with the advantages AoC said)
  • Not XL (can be bought second hand for a bit cheaper than a new 3DS, and a lot cheaper than a new XL)

Note  : The XL doesnt have a better screen, the pixels are just bigger. And that makes the result quite ugly...

Well, it doesn't have a better resolution, but still, I am used to 5.7'' and 5.8'' screens. So ok, the XL will shock me with its big pixels, but the non XL will shock me too for the same reason (because the 5.7'' is Full HD) plus with its little 3.53'' size.
Also, there is not only the size of the screen, there is the comfort of using something bigger (I have long fingers) and the imprints problem AoC mentionned on the non XL.

The 2DS has a feature everyone seems to be forgetting: The controls are in a good place. On all of the DS line, they're based in the center of the lower part of the handheld, which means it's off-balance. With the 2DS, it's still in the center, but it's also in the center of balance, and therefore easier to hold.

Fair enough. I don't have any problems with that on the DS Lite nor my GBA SP though. But now I play DS games on my phone with DraStic so I don't care. :P
