Delta force is largly multiplayer though, (it has a huge campaign, but I think multiplayer is the main part)
Delta Force has always had single player and multi-online player capabilities.
I much prefer the single player campaigns.
They are designed well and fun and alot of them! Again... I'm speaking about DF 1 & 2.. All of the other DF games suck!
In my opinion, multi-online player FPS suck! -.-
What is so fun about everyone running around killing each other? Plot?

Well, after you beat the single player you look for something else to do rather then own the same old bots whose strategy you've gotten used to by now and no more surprises in the storyline. Multiplayer is fun because you get to fight against other people who are way smarter than bots, and much hilarity can ensue when playing with friends.
If you like single player fps you will looooove half life 2 though!
One thing about half life games--there are no cutscenes, all the story is told by the characters around you. In half life 2 they worked hard on the faces and animations and they hired really professional voice actors. You end up caring for the other npcs and it really does give the feeling of fighting alongside them. I dunno what black magic they used (actually I do, extremely long development and an absolutely enormous budget) but hl2 just gives you the feeling that you are actually in the world it creates. It's better than most movies even. That is why it will always have this special place in me as the best game ever written.
(until something even better comes along anyways) If ya don't believe me read the reviews! There are no bad ones. O_O
There are very few people who rate it less than 9.5/10!

It's the gnome! One of the achievement awards in episode 2 is to send the garden gnome into space. I saw the award after I beat the game and was looking around at other stuff it has and I was like "wtf! gnome?! o.o
" Then when I was playing commentary mode I found the gnome under a bed on the first level and I was like OMG this must be the gnome they were talking about! Apparently you have to carry that gnome with you throughout the ENTIRE GAME and stick it in the rocket at the end. You can leave it at places you will come back too but more or less you have to stick with it. The hardest part was the helicopter car chase because it doesn't want to stay in the car.
It is totally indestructible though so it makes a decent anti-zombie weapon. As you can see my gnome is slightly battle-worn. ^^

i never played the single player half life one or two, but if you buy half life 1, you get almost an infinite amount of free mods that are just lying out there waiting to be downloaded(counter strike, day of defeat, natural selection). for halflife 2, you have to buy most of the good ones. ive played day of defeat for about 3 years.

the only problem with half life 1 games, is that they are so old that most ppls have switched to half life 2

Actually, although you have to buy them if you don't own hl2 you notice that they usually are included with hl2 releases. CS:S came with HL2, HL2:DM came with episode 1, and TF2 came in Orange Box.
I forget what DOD:S came with.

Heh, it actually is indestructible, it's just that the bullet hole decals will go on the gnome too.
