I heard the 3d method is the one achieved by "staring into space" (like w/Magic Eye, if you've ever heard of that)
It seems interesting... Such a method does limit the screen size, though. (People's eyespan is only so large)

Actually i heard that it uses a method call ed 3D face tracking.  It tracks your face in 3D coordinates and then displays an image onto the screen specific to the user so that it looks and appears 3D.  This is usefull because then you can look around things ect :) Which cannot be achieved in other methods such as the stereoscopic eye tricks

Well that's why stereoscopic is an outdated method now :P

That's pretty cool if they get that to work. I've seen multiple examples of this type of effect (phone programs, a Wii hack/program/trick/etc., and a full real room example.).

This is pretty wild.  I think it'll be cool once they get it working. ;D

I think they should use the 3D for the Wii. 3D on the DS would make the DS have a short battery life.

What makes you think that? Nothing has been revealed about the 3d technology.

I inferred that they would use the same battery as the Nintendo DSi.

I wouldn't be surprised if they found a way to work around battery issues, though.

Welcome here by the way

Ya, if they plan on doing something that takes up battery life they will do something to correct that most likely (probably a bigger batter I would think).

By the way, for anyone not aware of what head tracking is here is an excellent example.

This is epic, regardless of how it ends up being done.

^agreed. i feel like it might make games difficult to play... imagining having to navigate a 3d map with arrow keys makes my head hurt

that video is epic: i've never seen it in motion before, and lol at the electric cello in the back
