I fudged the truth a bit, but....

Spoiler For Email:
Hello Mario Carbajal, my name is James Oldiges.

For quite a while my friends and I have been big fans of Haxball and the entertainment it brings.
I have set up a very rudimentary server for Haxball, meaning that I just leave the internet open in a Haxball room.
Many communities such as Omnimaga, a calculator programming community, have taken great interest in Haxball and have regular games together.  Do to the variety of locations people live, getting a set time together can be rather difficult because of the time zones.  We have calculated that I am just about dead center of where everyone lives.  Because we don't know when everyone will be on, people periodically check to see if anyone (from Omnimaga) is playing.  This works quite well as I leave the room open 24/7, but it takes quite a toll on my laptop from overheating and memory usage.  Internet browsers in general take allot of power to run constantly, having tested IE8, IE9, FF 3.6, FF 4.0, and Google Chrome.  Are there any intentions on creating a server program or anything of the like, that would just connect to Haxball or the hosting computer?  If not, do you know of any way that would be more efficient for me to host a room?

Thank you for your time,

Because you put the URL of the web page in [img] tags, not the actual img ;)

This game seems fun to me. Gotta play it some times.
I'm not a nerd but I pretend:

Just got an idea for this.
Different fields for different player 1337ness levels.
People of the same skill level would play against others of the same skill level.

To start, possibly we could hold a tournament, 1v1 of the people who play the game currently.  From the results, different skill levels, or "tiers", would then be determined--into bronze, silver and gold.

After that, a universal password for the earned tier level and the level(s) below is PMed or something to people respectively.

Like, bronze has a password, silver has another password, and gold has yet another.  A person who earned bronze would get the password to the bronze field, and a person who earned gold would get the password to the bronze, silver and gold fields.

A person can move up a level in one of two ways:
1. Challenge someone from the tier above
2. Get noticed by a person from the tier above, and be challenged

(btw, is tier even the right word...)

Also, one could possibly be "demoted" or something if they don't match the skill level of others in the same level.

Rooms wouldn't have to be up all the time, one could announce the temporary creation of a room of a given level on IRC or something, then link it.

I guess that about sums up what's been going through my head...
So, any thoughts?  Suggestions?
