Post your gaming accomplishments
« on: August 26, 2013, 05:59:35 am »
This thread is for posting about accomplishments you've achieved during your gaming career. It can either be a really tough game you finally beat, a level your were proud of when you finally got past it, or an epic boss battle that made you feel like king of the world when you managed to beat them. For me, I sat down last night and decided I was going to beat Ghosts 'n Goblins. (arcade version) After several hours I finally prevailed! ;D There's definitely a reason this game is regarded as being so difficult.

Super metroid in under 2 hours and 30 minutes. (not sure what the exact time was)
I got a ton of items in that run that I did not really need, so I might be able to beat it much faster than this.
If you like my work: why not give me an internet?

Um... I beat VVVVVV?

I beat VVVVVV while collecting all trinkets on my first playthrough :P

I also beat Halo 4 in the first 24 hours of it releasing (and nearly did it all in my first sitting, but I had to leave for class).
In the game Singularity, I once held second place on the world leaderboards for the 360, and trained one of the guys who held 1st in that game.
I also convinced Ravensoft (the developers) to play against top players for a night.

An achievement I am working on is beating Europa Universalis IV as the Byzantines.

Imma Cat! =^_^= :3 (It's an emoticon now!)

Spoiler For IMPORTANT NEWS!:
Late last night, Quebec was invaded by a group calling themselves, "Omnimaga". Not much is known about these mysterious people except that they all carried calculators of some kind and they all seemed to converge on one house in particular. Experts estimate that the combined power of their fabled calculators is greater than all the worlds super computers put together. The group seems to be holding out in the home of a certain DJ_O, who the Omnimagians claim to be their founder. Such power has put the world at a standstill with everyone waiting to see what the Omnimagians will do...

Wait... This just in, the Omnimagians have sent the UN a list of demands that must be met or else the world will be "submitted to the wrath of Netham45's Lobster Army". Such demands include >9001 crates of peanuts, sacrificial blue lobsters, and a wide assortment of cherry flavored items. With such computing power stored in the hands of such people, we can only hope these demands are met.

In the wake of these events, we can only ask, Why? Why do these people make these demands, what caused them to gather, and what are their future plans...

I beat Emerald Weapon in under 5 minutes in Final Fantasy VII. Of course that is nowhere close to an accomplishment today, but I did it over 13 years ago and I don't think that back then, the glitches and exploits allowing you to beat him even faster were even available online nor anywhere else, if they were even discovered at all. Back in the days, everyone just spammed double KOTR's and mime, which takes a long while because of the very long KOTR summon animation.

I also beat Indalecio Unlimited in 29 seconds in Star Ocean: The Second Story for the Playstation 1, using just 1 character with 1 HP. (Gabriel in the PSP version) It was in Earth mode, though (easiest, although in Earth mode there's no 999 MP cap for enemies/bosses so you can't do the MP sucking trick). My 2nd attempt (seen below) was over 1.5 minutes, though, because I forgot which equipment I had during my first few attempts. I was using an equipment that increased my attack power as my HP went down:

I also beat the Iselia Queen in 32 seconds using the same char with 1 HP. I don't recall if it's that fight or the Indalecio's one where I had 30 skills succeeded every hit, but I think my record was about 1500 or so. It took slightly longer because she had 3 million HP. I also did it in 7 minutes with character Rena. It wasn't that hard actually, to my surprise, but it took a while since Rena is a mage lol.

Note that the above was not tool-assisted. I bet that in a TAS it would take less than 20 sec for each boss even in Universe mode.
