Starcraft: anyone here still play it (on BattleNet)?

Since several of this forum members are younger in average, some might not know about Starcraft or might have never played it before. However, I am asking anyway. For those who don't know, this is the most popular real-time strategy game ever made and sold for millions of copies. It came out in 1998, but it's so incredibly popular that even today it is still under production and it was even made compatible with Windows XP. There are even still occasional updates and security patches being released online. I believe it even works on Windows Vista. It plays like Warcraft III in some ways, but it's faster-paced and allows for more units in your army (200 max, while WCIII is 90). Even after 11 years, on Battle.Net there are still over 9000 people online every night playing it online, split via 4 servers. This doesn't count the 500 or so people who plays it on a pirate server. Since it's very old, it looks crappy on wide-screen monitors and graphics are very dated, but if anyone like strategy games here I mostly play on the US East server on Battle.Net and occasionally on the European server. I mostly play Brood War Expansion but other times I play Classic too.
My screenname there is DJ_Omnimaga everywhere except in Classic mode on US East server, where it's Omnimaga. I suck pretty bad, though, and my game records speak by themselves. around 100 wins and 200 losses on Classic US East and 219 wins and 313 losses on Brood War US East. I mostly play money maps with these accounts, though, or certain UMS maps that are simple (money maps are kinda like UMS maps by themselves, as they're hacked and won't play like Starcraft). Soon I might start new accounts under an alt nickname where I will only play low-money maps

Ouch I hope it wasn't for hacking though, since I usually don't play against hackers (unless every player in the team have the same hack and same version of it, and that it's stated at the game start that this hack is allowed). I got my old acct locked, though, for inactivity. These days, I mostly play on Netham45's server, though.

I go on rarely, like once a month, only when I have a free time and bored to death... I think my Starcraft skill's decreasing though
And I play all kinds of maps, favorite being BGH (Big Game Hunter), Money Maps, and Phantom (UMS)

It is still my favourite PC game actually. On the NES, SNES, Xbox 360 and other consoles, I'll usually spend my time on RPGs. On the PC, I'll always be on SC if I feel like gaming. In second place, comes Unreal Tournament 2004 for the PC and Halo 3 for the 360
Unfrotunately, several Omnimaga members uses a cracked version with invalid CD key, so we usually play on iCCup instead (or Netham45 server, altough it's limited only to certain people and not public for legal reason)
On Bnet I still have an account, though, but a loss record of about 240-330
, and it's my second account. On my first, where I only played Classic, not Brood War, I had 100-200. Basically after 800+ games I still got a loss record

hmm... i might beable to supply you guys some nice valid cdkeys!
d3jsp has lots of cdkeys that are perhaps unused...
most are just voided.. but can still play games... just can't talk in the chat rooms...
how does that sound? should i post them some where? or is that too much... since it is illegal after all

yeah, but you would need to share there elsewhere (not even via Omnimaga PM), because then I could get in trouble with my hosting provider. I think for the most part, people just can't talk in chat rooms (altough they can talk fine in game lobbys) and they get disconnected every 30 minutes or so. I myself own one copy of SC and my bro another one, so for me it's not an issue.

Idk if it's illegal. If it is, I guess we'll just provide the link to the patch here for regular members in the SC subforum.

hmm... that sucks... cause i almost wanted to simply post them here...
i wonder if it is still illegal if they are already semi banned cd-keys though...
as in you can still play, but your muted for spamming or something like that...
come on... i could just leave it here for 2 days and then we can take it down or something

sorry schoolhacker, but I had to give you -1. leaving here for 2 days and such after being told by DJ that he might get in trouble...
Personally, I own a pirated version and cd key, so I can enter bnet, but is in void channel, which means that I cannot talk to anyone. even message anyone in the chat lobby. although ingame chat is fine. If you really want to share them, why don't you put link to where you can find those keys? idk if that is okay tho, ask DJ for permission.
btw. remember that DJ is paying for this site, and if he gets in trouble, we might never be able to see omnimaga again. So please respect the rules

Unfortunately nope it would still be against the rules
Also insisting to put them here anyway will not change the forum rules.
And yeah altough I doubt 1and1 monitors our site for illegal content on a regular basis, I still don't allow it in case. If someone puts such content up anyway it will be deleted (and the user banned if he was alerady warned for something else before).
Same goes via personal messages or the public IRC chat, as these are monitored/logged. For such thing you would have to e-mail the members or do it on another site like Youtube PMs.
Plus why wouldn't we play on iCCup instead of Bnet? That would solve most issues regarding CD keys. Idk if iCCup is legal but at least it's very easy to find through Google.
