We kinda saw it coming with the Humble THQ Bundle, the Humble Bundle usually features independent games (THQ isn't), so either THQ was in difficulties or it was a wise publicity stunt. Turns out it really was the former.

Anyway, it's sad to see it go under Chapter 11, but it's nice to know several companies bought their assets and Ubisoft Montréal is expanding :)

At first I thought the Humble Bundle just sold itself out to commercial companies so companies can promote their stuff via the humble bundle but I also worried that THQ was nearing its end since it isn't the first time I hear about them having problems. Hopefully their game franchises do not die as a result of their bankruptcy. I personally didn't play their games much but I was happy in 1998 that they brought at least 1 RPG to the Nintendo 64 (Quest 64). If THQ didn't exist, maybe the Nintendo 64 would never have gotten a single RPG.
