I bet that most of you have heard about it already, but in case you didn't, it seems that Microsoft has finally decided to listen to customers after all: No more 24/7 connectivity and used games are now playable! Of course I personally will only buy the console if there are more good game choices on it than the PS4 and if Sony don't decide to add restrictions or something, because there is still the fact that the Xbox One is still $100 higher than the PS4 and $200 higher than the Wii U. (Plus I plan to get the Wii U first anyway)

On the other hand, like old consoles, we'll now need to put the game disc in the console to play, but I guess it's not a big issue unless you have a massive game collection at home and that it's hard to find the game you want.

Personally I am fine with sticking with the current gen, but it will be hard to resist the temptation of playing the new Mario games along with NSMBWiiU for much longer.

I also bet that friends will insist so I get the new Halo and Xbox franchises and play with them online, although I doubt they would do it as much as a few years ago.

To be honest, I think the amount of Halo games isn't as bad as CoD. There is a CoD game coming out every year and often it feels like the same. That said, if the Xbox One is $499.99 I don't see why I would buy a new Halo game immediately if Halo Reach and 4 for the 360 still do the job well.

However, if they ever release a remake of Halo 2, I'm most likely gonna get it, because I loved that game. It's a shame that Xbox Live for the original console (before the 360) was discontinued. Of course we can play on third-party servers now, but there aren't as many people.

It is possible that some people who don't follow news much might have seen the news about the used games lockdown, but missed the other. It is obvious that some people won't get the console because of that, or they'll get it much later after its price dropped, meaning less revenues.

The problem, though, is that in 8 years or so, maybe they'll try to push their DRM crap on us again, but other companies will see extra revenues opportunities in that kind of restrictions then do the same with their consoles. What will then happen is either people will stop minding due to it being the standard, or there will be another video game crash.

Another thing is that before the 360, there was an original Xbox that some people referred to as the Xbox 1 or Xbox v1. The name of their new console might confuse people during discussions about old school Xbox games.

Also the Wii U has a $299.99 model.
