Look at what I scored today for $39.99 at Value Village:



The SNES power input jack and cable are worn out, but if you don't mess around with them, the SNES works very well. Plus it came with 2 controllers and 3 Mario games

The guy at a local store told me a way to fix the SNES power jack above. If that works then it will probably be useable on a regular basis without fears of accidental unplugging

I have another SNES with 4 gamepads (two from my RetroDuo) but it doesn't play some mode 7 scaled sprites properly sometimes and the cartridge slot is dirty. Plus it's yellow lol.


Also today I got Robocop 1 and 2 for the NES in their box, Taz Mania SNES (boxed as well) and James BOnd Jr. The latter is missing the instructions. I also got a loose copy of some Sega Genesis Disney platformer thing. All were at Ebay prices except Robocop 2 on which I got $30 off.

If it's any good I might pick that game up as well.

it's supposedly quite good per Sonic 2006 standards, among the best of the post-Sonic Adventures material. Reviews were more favorable towards the DS version, though.

My retro games collection as of aug 23rd. I got Chip 'N Dale Rescue Rangers today for €19.99 , it's a fun game. Also got a boxed copy of F-Zero for the SNES (which arrives somewhere next week)
I'm also getting SMB2... I have so many games already (7 cartridges, 8 games! O.o) and I dont even have my NES for a week.  Better not continue at this pace...

So yesterday, my copy of FIFA 14 for the Playstation 2 has arrived.


Unlike PES 2014, this PS2 game came out in North America, but the cover and manual are in Spanish (although the game has English, French and Spanish language options).


I don't normally buy sports games, but, a few things motivated me to do so:
-It's the last PS2 game ever released in North America
-It came out over half a year after the PS2 got discontinued
-The NTSC version was made in very small quantities, due to soccer not being as popular as in Europe and the PS2 being old.


Of course I'll probably play it a bit since I sometimes play hockey games as well, but the possibility that this becomes an holy grail of game collectors in a few years is why I picked the PS2 version over the PS3 or PS4 (not that I have a PS4 anyway). It will most likely depend of how many people become aware that this game exists, though, because most retailers stopped carrying PS2 games half a decade ago and I doubt many people would expect a game to be released on three generations of consoles at once. But yeah, just look at the NTSC versions of FIFA Soccer 2013 Wii, Madden 09 for Xbox.
