I also picked Alundra 2 yesterday and Legacy of Kain earlier today for Playstation. I saw a Commodore 64, Colecovision and Sega Master System too, but sadly didn't have enough money with me and the SMS had no power adapter anyway.

In some cases, it's better to play on the original console if the gamepad is better than what you have on the computer and for compatibility purposes, but in other cases where controls are terrible or the screen sucks (like on the GBA or Game Gear where it's hard to see anything) it's better to play on an emulator.

There are also savestates on a computer but some might consider this as some form of cheating

Also some old games get more valuable with the years due to being collector items so some people can make money from them.

If you ever get an original Nintendo DS, go to the screen options then turn OFF the backlight (I don't think it's possible on the 3DS). That's how bad the Game Boy Advance LCD was.

That sucks (in both senses ), I would hate if that happened to me considering how rare and hard to find those games get after a while. Nice that you found it for $6 in the first place, though.

Also the two games I got for the Atari Lynx aren't too bad. At first I worried about the horrible LCD but then I realized the brightness was maxed out so I just lowered it a lot so I can see stuff and it's pretty nice.

It's like a 8 bit console but with slightly better graphics and 16 bit console effects like zooming.

I might try to get the Commodore 64 if it has everything available to play games. The store guy also has Pitfall but apparently it's rare and it still had the factory seal (I think it was opened, but I could be wrong).


Btw avoid the Mass Effect trilogy unless the box says it includes all DLC! Gamestop charges $59.99 for it, yet they sell Mass Effect 2 used for $12.99 and Mass Effect 3 for $14.99. The online site in Canada charges $14.99 for an used copy of Mass Effect 1. Just get them used separately if you can get the downloadable content for free.

Also the Wii U version of Mass Effect 3 is $59.99. It's a special edition, but before buying it, remember that you can get the PS3 or 360 version for at least $40 cheaper.
