then it will tell you that answer:
log
b
(n) = ln(n) / ln(b)
That conversion is always valid, thanks to math, and thus you just have to input your logarithms like that then.

Insert sugar to begin programming subroutine.

That depends on how you phrase the input. When using solve() you need to put it in terms of a variable.
solve(log(x,2) = 2,x) will solve for x, saying x = 4
TI-89 log supports the log(entry, base) syntax btw

The thing is that the TI-89 doesn't have log(n,base), you have to do ln(n) / ln(b)
EDIT: Apparently I'm using an outdated OS, so i guess try log(n,base) first, if that doesn't work then fallback to ln(n) / ln(base)

There's a search bar (two actually) on the left on TI Planet

Sorry if I answer with something that seems unrelated, English is not my primary language and I might not have understood well. Sorry if I make English mistakes too.

To add CAS support:
Update your calculator to OS 3.1. Download it from
here
. Be careful not to get anything newer.
Download Nlaunchy from
here
.
Download TNOC from
here
Follow the instructions for Nlaunchy in README. Use the
3.1 CAS OS
for phoenix.tns
