Help with Metroid II: Evolution
« on: November 21, 2009, 11:02:48 am »
After putting all the files in the correct spots, I went to play Metroid.  I turned on the xLIB like the readme says to do.  Then I started up program A.  It started to draw something, but then it gave me the error "err:ARCHIVED".  So I thought that I installed it wrong, so I got rid of it all, then reput it on there, but I still got the same error.  When I hit Goto, it brings me to the line of code in A which says "DelVar Pic6DelVar Pic7DelVar Pic8".  If someone knows how to fix it, or if it can't be fixed, please tell me.

umm... sorry to bother you again, but when it starts up, the screen is black except for my energy and missle count.  I waited for about 5 minutes, but it doesnt do anything.  I have hit every button, but the only one that will do anything is the on button, which just closes it.  I dont suppose you know how to fix this.  If you can then tell me, if you cant then Ill try the expansion pack for this, and see if that one will work.

Mhmm, I never had this happen. Are you sure that when you installed the game, you made sure that if there were alerady files of the same names on your calculator, that you chosen the option to overwrite them, not skip? That could be the problem. Also, I think there's an unknown bug with xLIB causing the commands real(10 to not work all the time on certain calculator models. When this happens, it is best to reset the calc completly (both RAM and archive), then reinstall everything you had on it afterward. On certain calcs, it seems to occur all the time, though, and I am not sure if the source to the problem isn't the same as TI-Boy SE's...

Ok I figured out what it was.  When I had installed it, I thought that the pictures in there were pictures of the game that I could look at, and not part of the programming.  Now that the calc has those, it works now.  I feel kinda stupid thinking that now.
