no need to be rude either delnar, but of course the manual is always a good ressource for all this stuff, providing it came with your calc. In PoisonedV case, it didn't though, so I will have to redirect him to the online 83+ manual (since it's compatible with the 84+)

Ok, so for starting out BASIC programming, I should just do normal basic or hop immediately into "xLib?" So far all I have done yet is some basic programs like "if a = 1 then disp "hello world!" etc

make sure to master BASIC, then you can move to xlib. by mastering i mean you are able to do something like Illusiat 6 in the archives.

There's also assembly, but it's much harder to understand if you don't have much experience in programming in overall. Some people like jon, liazon and halifax can help you though

Thanks for that! I couldnt play desolate. One question, is there a shell better than DoorsCS6? I like it but I can't figure out how to move files to folders...

After creating a folder...

1. Place the mouse over the file's icon
2. Press ALPHA and then select CUT (COPY seems to not even put the selected file in DoorsCS's "clipboard" and I don't think it lets you put the file in a different folder) from the menu with 2ND
3. Navigate to the folder you wish to move the file to
4. Press ALPHA and this time, select PASTE

There are other shells too, such as CrunchyOS and MirageOS, but although they are good too, they aren't necessarily better than DoorsCS.  A lot of it is personal preference.

I would also check for NoSHell on ticalc.org, enable it on your calc via apps menu then you can run assembly programs directly from the PRGM menu, but you cant sort them in folders

EDIT: moved to Calc help and support forum

NoShell is nice but can sometimes have issues with omnicalc or xLib And I like all the features of Doors CS and since you have a 84 SE you have enough memory to have both.
