the further bricking is not due to NLaunch, I hope?
The bricking is due to a careless user removing all protections purposefully added in nsNandMgr against dangerous operations, and proceeding anyway (despite prior warnings) on those dangerous operations. End result: one of the very few most interesting Nspire prototype calculators in the world is bricked, and extra special equipment, at significant cost, is needed to (possibly) bring it back to normal state...
I just hope, for the community's sake, that he won't screw up any further by simply putting the calculator to the trash bin, instead of making it possible for others to try and salvage it.
And does NLaunch actually unbrick the calculator or just provide the means to launch the boot files for os?
nLaunch is only the latter. If the calculator were still able to proceed to boot2, the abitrary code execution vulnerability leveraged by nLaunch could be used for other purposes... but the calculator doesn't even proceed to boot2 any longer...
