How do I get cx cas features on my TI- nspire cx
« on: April 08, 2013, 12:12:39 am »
I just bought a TI-nspire cx today and I wanted a lot of features that were on the CAS version but I needed it to work on a lot of my high school tests. Is it possible to boot the cx CAS software to my calculator (TI-nspire cx).

Is it possible? Yes. Is it cheating? Yes. Do you still want to do it? Why should I bother asking. . . .

It's also slightly illegal.

You need to use nLaunch, but we can't help on how to launch the CAS OS, since it has high risks of falling under the wrong hands (people who want to use it solely for cheating) in the future, along with tarnishing Omnimaga's reputation. The last thing we want is eventually seeing the entire TI-Nspire series banned from tests where only the CAS models used to be banned.

In any case, the effort in trying to get nLaunch and Ndless to work could instead be put into extra studying :) (or for other uses, such as running Linux on your calc outside classes)

For a CX, you need nLaunch CX. It works well for the purposes of running Linux on my calculator, and others have reported success running the CM-C OS on a CX, or a CAS OS on the model sold as non-CAS (which is not illegal in the main standardized test of my country, anyhow - CAS is allowed here). All of us just followed the README.
