I haven't read the whole topic so I don't know if you solved the problem, but I've already got this problem.
If I remember, I only uninstalled the Student Software and installed it again.

@Atham: the error message mentions a log file, namely a ".tilp.log" file in your home directory (usually C:\Users\<your user name>). Please post the entire contents of that file here, so as to give me as many clues as possible about fixing the problem (if any)

You have not configured the communication properly, so it's no wonder that it does not work
Please configure the cable to DirectLink. You may also want to check the "USB scan at startup" checkbox, so that next time you start TILP up, it will automatically select your Nspire.

I'm happy to have added this trace recently, it's at least the second time it diagnoses a communication problem

In no way, of course. TILP and TINCS are completely separate programs.

For installing TINCS's drivers, follow the same procedure for TINCS as for TILP. And when TINCS works, you should be able to install TILP II 1.16 and TINCS side by side, by following the filter driver installation instructions, as described in the README.
