(Please note: I don't know a lot about the Nspire, so what I'm saying might be wrong)
I just got a Ti Nspire Touchpad(non CAS), which came with OS 2.0 preinstalled. Does this mean I can get a clickpad separately and can use it instead of the annoying touchpad?
Yes.
I would also like to downgrade to OS 1.7 in order to use Ndless, and I know that OS 1.7 wont work with the touchpad. Is that all I would have to do to get Ndless working on my Nspire? ???
Yes, but you need to use a certain thing that I've forgotten the name of in order to downgrade. Also, a version of Ndless that supports 2.0 might be released soon.

You'll need The program is called Nleash, and also the Touchpad doesn't work on 1.7.

No, you don't need nleash to go to 1.7, only for 1.4 and below.

@merauder
That should work perfectly, but you'll have to use only the clickpad for booting up. Once ndless 2.0 comes out you can use that instead, and just use the touchpad. From what I can see, a release shouldn't be too far away either ;) (not actually a comment from ExtendeD or anyone from ndless team, just my thoughts and opinion)

yeah, my main concern about ndless is that gbc4nspire wont work in 1.7, does anyone know if it does? Also, since all of my expertise is in the iPhone jailbreaking world, I have no idea how to downgrade in the first place.
Thanks for the fast responces.

Downgrading to 1.7 is just like upgrading to a new OS, except you use an old OS instead of a new one.

gbc4nspire was ported to 1.7 actually. It's now included in Omnimaga archives. TI-BANK had it for a while (although the site is in French). Welcome on the forums by the way!

Do you know how to get to the maintenance menu? from there you delete the OS, then when you turn it on it will say "install os now" or similar. Use the linker to install 1.7 from there.

For the clickpad, hold ON-Home-Enter-P while it turns on (at least until the bar is half full)

Ok, so to downgrade, all i have to do is go to the maintenence menu(kinda like DFU mode) and delete the OS, then use the TI linking software to install 1.7. I already have the files for OS 1.1-2.1 on my PC, so finding OS 1.7 isnt a problem. Where do I download gbc4nspire? COuld anyone provide a link? I just ordered a clickpad off Ebay, and I want the emulator ahead of time.

Huh, I always seem to be getting the worst versions of these calculators for homebrew. First my Ti-84 cant run ti boy, and now this.
Ah, well, doesnt seem too difficult to do.

What OS do you need?  Did you try 2.0.1?

ok, im trying to downgrade os 2.0 on my newer nspire(came with touchpad), to os 1.7. What i tried doing was deleting the os from the maintenence menu, then installing os 1.7 from the linking software.
However, this failed, and the linking software refused to install os 1.7, saying that i couldnt downgrade below my current version. I just tried nleash, but it isnt working either.

What do i do?

You should not use OS 1.7 with the touchpad, it will not work.  Send OS 2.0.1 (not 2.0.0) in the same way you sent OS 1.7 to your calc.
