PC can't detect Calc
« on: September 03, 2009, 12:01:02 pm »
Ok, this seems to be a common problem, but I haven't found a solution for it.
What happens (or should I say what doesn't happen) is,
If I want to connect my calc, and the application is searching for it, it can not detect my calculator.

In most cases it is caused by installing TiLP when TiConnect is already installed on your PC (or just the same thing inversed, when you install TiConnect when TiLP is already installed)

Although it happens too with only one of them.

Anyways, I read it should have something to do with the drivers.
Does anyone know how to 'repair' the drivers, or in any way, solve this common problem?

An advice to all that don't know yet:
Never install TiLP when TiConnect isn't fully uninstalled, or TiLP when TiConnect is!!!

Are you talking about TiLP (Tilp Is a Linking Program) the linking software, or Tilem the emulator?

the only solution I've found to this problem (which happens a llot for me) is to restart your computer and possibly switch the cable to a different USB port (so that it is sure to detect it in a new port and not just go with where it was found last) however i would love to know if there is a better solution to this, i dont like having to restart my computer a lot >.<

I don't think this works for me since I have sometimes just started my pc up to try it and it didn't work
And I randomly pick one of my 3 USB station every time so that's not the problem either :[

Not to start another topic, but anybody has any clue how to transfer files between a PC and a TI-Nspire with 84+ keypad installed using TI-Connect? TI Connect won't detect it no matter which ones of my cables (black serial TI-Graph Link or USB) I use. With TiLP it works, but with TiLP I always had trouble with backing up  my stuff

I've only tried with Silverlink (which works with mine)

With serial link cable, for me, formatting the computer was always the only solution x.x.

This problem is happening to me right now. And, it's SOOOO frustrating when you delete Celtic III 3.09q to try and put Celtic 3.09s on the calculator and TI-Connect's like:
