PRGM button
« on: February 04, 2010, 12:06:47 pm »
So recently while programing on my calc, I have run into an interesting OS glitch with my calc O.O sometimes when I press the PRGM button to get to an If or While, I get the traditional list of programs instead ( like when you press it from the homescreen ).  Has anybody else ever experienced this?  I think I'm going to update my OS just in case it is serious

It's omnicalc. If you go into the quick apps screen, you get the "homescreen" menu when pressing prgm.

Oh that's interesting.  Alright, thanks for the heads up, I was getting worried my calculator was self destructing!

I had that happened before too. :P I thought it was omnicalc, but didn't know how to trigger it.
Now I know

Spoiler For funny life mathematics:
1. ROMANCE MATHEMATICS
Smart man + smart woman = romance
Smart man + dumb woman = affair
Dumb man + smart woman = marriage
Dumb man + dumb woman = pregnancy
2. OFFICE ARITHMETIC
Smart boss + smart employee = profit
Smart boss + dumb employee = production
Dumb boss + smart employee = promotion
Dumb boss + dumb employee = overtime
3. SHOPPING MATH
A man will pay $2 for a $1 item he needs.
A woman will pay $1 for a $2 item that she doesn't need.
4. GENERAL EQUATIONS & STATISTICS
A woman worries about the future until she gets a husband.
A man never worries about the future until he gets a wife.
A successful man is one who makes more money than his wife can spend.
A successful woman is one who can find such a man.
5. HAPPINESS
To be happy with a man, you must understand him a lot and love him a little.
To be happy with a woman, you must love her a lot and not try to understand her at all.
6. LONGEVITY
Married men live longer than single men do, but married men are a lot more willing to die.
7. PROPENSITY TO CHANGE
A woman marries a man expecting he will change, but he doesn't.
A man marries a woman expecting that she won't change, and she does.
8. DISCUSSION TECHNIQUE
A woman has the last word in any argument.
Anything a man says after that is the beginning of a new argument.

Girls = Time * Money (Girls are a combination of time and money)
Time = Money (Time is money)
Girls = Money squared (So, girls are money squared)
Money = sqrt(Evil) (Money is also the root of all evil)
Girls = sqrt(Evil) squared (So, girls are the root of all evil squared)
Girls = Evil (Thus, girls are evil)
*Girls=Evil credit goes to Compynerd255*

How do you know he had Omnicalc installed on his calc tho? That said, I haven't noticed that myself, but I might be wrong. I just haven't used Omnicalc in half a decade

Mhmm no, I never said I never installed it. I just said I didn't use Omnicalc for half a decade. The last time I used it was to make Diortem (which got revived as Metroid II Evolution a year later and moved to xLIB APP), not long after I finished Reuben Quest series

Like for making games you mean?  I went through a phase where i liked to use it, but then i moved on to liking xLib/CelticIII better for games.  I like omnicalc for the math features, plus the parenthesis assistant, and the fast apps.

Oh, that makes sense.  I thought you hadn't had it on calc for 5+ years. ;D

I actually didn't have Omnicalc on my calc for 5 years, except when I tried Reuben Quest on my TI-Nspire to see if it works fine. I used Omnicalc sometimes in 2002, but back then it sucked because it crashed often and you couldn't send programs made using its functions from a calc to another. In 2004 this got fixed and Omnicalc became a revolutionary app for sprite-based game making. I discovered how to make grayscale with it then used Omnicalc until April 2005, when I ditched calcs for a few months to eventually move to xLIB APP
